“Triple Jump” in Frankfurt – Exploring best practices in the frame of the TRIPLE project

Four experts of Hungarian School Sport Federation (HSSF) visited Deutscher Turner-Bund (DTB) in Frankfurt, Germany between 27-30 April 2026.
The aim of the visit is to learn about the DTB’s activities, operational model, and organizational structure, as well as to gain insight into the programs they organize to promote recreational sports and a healthy lifestyle. During the study tour, we will pay special attention to identifying best practices that could potentially be adapted to contribute to the development of school sport in Hungary.
During drafting the proposal, we identified the following professional objectives:
- To learn about the DTB’s programs designed to encourage physical activity and its organizational experience, as well as to present our own programs
- Mapping the responsibilities and experiences of the German coordinator for European Week of Sport (EWoS), as well as exploring opportunities for integrating the EWoS and European School Sport Day (ESSD) programs,
- Getting insight into the management, activation, and operational practices of the DTB coordinator network, with particular regard to issues of motivation and sustainability, as well as presenting our local and ESSD networks,
- Discussing the establishment of further partnerships, with particular regard to the ESSD.
The meeting also provides an opportunity to lay the groundwork for professional cooperation between the HSSF and the DTB and to prepare for future joint initiatives
We will apply the experience gained to the development of HSSF’s priority programs—in particular, Diákolimpia (Student Olympics), the Active School program, and the European School Sports Day initiative.
The delegation is traveling to the visit by train, in a sustainable manner.
The study trip was carried out within the Erasmus+ Program’s Mobility of Staff in the Field of Sport (KA182-SPO), in the frame of the TRIPLE project.
