The Erasmus+ mobility project MOVEX – School Sports Experts on the Move – has successfully completed professional visits to grassroots sports organizations in Ireland, Denmark, and Sweden.
Recognising the importance of mutual learning and the development of transnational cooperation, the HSSF submitted an application in early 2023 for the implementation of mobility projects (KA1) under the Erasmus+ programme for institutions active in the field of mass and recreational sport to achieve their professional development objectives:
Within the project’s framework, we visited three foreign organisations with a long tradition in their field of expertise. We were introduced to some of their flagship programmes, exchanged good practices, and held professional meetings.
We met with the Irish Mayo Education Centre in Dublin. During the visit, our colleagues were introduced to the Active School Flag (ASF) programme and presented the Hungarian Active School Programme to the Irish host organisation. In Denmark, we visited the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA). During the visit, we learned about ISCA’s history, current activities, workshops on how they maintain a European sports network, and challenges. We discussed possible ways of further cooperation in ESSD. A technical visit to the Swedish organisation Riksidrottsförbundet in Stockholm provided an opportunity to study on Swedish models of school sport and children’s sport.
Within the framework of the project, our staff from three different professional areas – International Relations, Active Schools Programme, and Student Olympics – took part in the professional visits. The short study visits not only broadened the participants’ professional knowledge and perspectives but also established and strengthened new and existing international relationship of the HSSF. The face-to-face meetings let our staff to get to know on the ground the activities and practical experiences of three European sports organisations operating based on a grassroots philosophy. By organising the mobilities, the HSSF was able to contribute to broadening up-to-date professional knowledge of its sports professionals and staff. The mobility also contributed to further developing our three nationally innovative programmes: the ESSD, the Active School Programme and the renewal of student sport.
Thank you for the Erasmus+ support! We are also preparing our upcoming mobility project!
