Not one but two Erasmus Plus projects can be implemented by Hungarian School Sport Federation!

Following to the notification of the European Commission in December 2014 that the financial support has been granted for HSSF’s „SHA P.E” project plan submitted in the category of collaborative partnerships, we have just received the positive decision from the EU regarding our second project plan submitted for the latest Erasmus Plus tender call focusing on European Week of Sports (EWS). In September 2015, the EWS will be organized in the European Union for the first time.

While SHA P.E targets to compare the national regulatory backgrounds of school P.E. in the partner EU countries (qualification frameworks, core curricula) and makes recommendations for concrete interventions in order to develop health-centered physical education, the new project shall foster the dissemination of an acknowledged Hungarian good practice in Europe. Since Hungarian School Sport Day has been chosen last year as one of the best practices in the frame of the Move Transfer Program of International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), HSSF now receives the opportunity to organize the European School Sport Day.

Within the SHA P.E project, HSSF forms a consortium along with the Greek Ministry responsible for education affairs; with one of the biggest school sport organization, CBO from the Netherlands; Kaunas University of Technology from Lithuania; and the Sport Health Institute of the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University from Frankfurt. The implementation of the project tasks has already been started in March, and in April 22-23, the first workshop will also take place in Budapest.

In the implementation of the European School Sport Day, HSSF will be joined by the above referred ISCA; Youth Sport Trust from the United Kingdom; Fundacja V4SPORT from Poland; BG Be Active from Bulgaria; and the European Physical Education Association (EUPEA). Within the project, the partners shall create a manual packed with professional program proposals, which will serve as tool box to organize inclusive, extracurricular student sport events. The European School Sport Day as part of the European Week of Sports will be first tested in 3 countries, but further countries are welcomed to join the initiation. Following to the incorporation of the tested best practices into the manual, the edition will be available for anyone who is interested, and undertakes the organizing of similar events.

Until now, Hungarian School Sport Federation has applied for each Erasmus + Sport Programme tender with a successful submission, and each time came out as sole Hungarian winner organization within the small circle of the awarded applicants: In the first round, a total number of 408 applicants were competing, whereas the second time 78 applicants competed for the acknowledgment of the European Union.
