GEM partners visited School Games National Finals – Loughborough, UK

In September, two personal meetings were planned to be held within the framework of the GEM (Grassroots Exchange and Mobility – Empowering Youth Sport Professionals) programme, which brings together professionals from 11 organisations in 10 countries: one event in the UK and one Hungary.

From 31 August to 3 September 2022, the Youth Sport Trust International hosted the national finals of the School Games 2022 in Loughborough, UK. This time the sporting event was hosted by the Loughborough University, which has excellent infrastructure.  Since 2006, the event has provided more than 1000 young people from across the UK with the opportunity to compete every year.

As well as hearing presentations on the background, past and present of the Games, the partners were also given an insight into the organisation process of the School Games. Partners will also be able to use the experience in their own countries as well during organising sport events.
