Experiences Sharing at the Active School Teacher Festival

With the support of the European Union, from May 5 to 8, 2025, teachers from mentor schools participating in the HSSF’s Active School programme, along with colleagues involved in its professional development and operational management, visited Dublin. During the visit, they had the opportunity to learn about the work of the Mayo Education Centre, with a special focus on the Active School Flag programme.
Although the trip was short, it was rich in experiences. These were shared not only among direct colleagues and the school staff of the participating mentor schools, but also with other schools involved in the Active School programme.
We were pleased that, as part of the professional programme of the Active School Teacher Festival held in Várgesztes on June 27–28, 2025, with over 500 participants, Krisztina Galambos reported on behalf of the travelling colleagues. She gave an insight of the unique characteristics of the Irish school system, the operation of the Active School Flag programme, and practical experiences gained during school visits, ideas and methods that can be easily applied in everyday school life.
We trust that these shared experiences will not only contribute to the development of the Active Schools but will also inspire fellow teachers to adopt new perspectives, try out good practices, and establish new connections, potentially within the framework of their own school’s Erasmus+ mobility projects.
