Dear Pedagogues, Experts and Visitors,

The Hungarian School Sport Federation organized its international conference named HIPE in the year of 2014 for the first time, in commitment to draw attention to one of the most serious issue of our times: the radical increase of inactive lifestyle.

2 years ago, in connection with our T.E.S.I. project, the HIPE conference focused on strategic and methodological development of school physical education, fitness assessment of students, school sport-related volunteering and social inclusion through physical activity in schools. Encouraged by the positive feedback of participants who arrived from several European countries, United States and Hungary as well, we decided to organize the conference for the second time in 2016.

The occasion is also relevant because during the period of the last 2 years, Hungarian School Sport Federation, uniquely in Hungary, received the opportunity to implement three Erasmus+ Sport projects, created the recently accepted National Physical Education strategy (named TESI 2020) for the Hungarian government and soon launches its new 4-year-long priority project.

This time, our conference – in harmony with the health-enhancing physical activity, the HEPA concept – will be focusing on prioritizing healthy lifestyle among the key competences essential for life-long learning, and how this objective could be best supported by quality physical education and teacher education at European level. Among others, our colleagues and partners will also present the development results of the related Erasmus+ project and the professional content of the T.E.S.I 2.0. project.

We look forward to welcoming the professional audience to the HIPE for HEPA 2016 conference in Budapest, hoping to provide an international platform for inspiring discussions about the future of quality physical education.
